Privacy policy

ILE Education Ltd ("ILE", "we", "us") provides 1-1 tutoring services. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We aim to keep this in plain English.

Who we are

ILE Education Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16584899, and operates the website iled.uk. ILE Education Ltd is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. For anything related to your data, contact us at support@iled.uk.

What we collect

• Enquiry details. When you contact us by email, WhatsApp or our contact page, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your name, contact details, the student's year group, subjects and goals.
• Tutoring records. For enrolled students we keep records needed to deliver tutoring: subjects, exam boards, session notes, progress and grades, and attendance.
• Portal accounts. Where we provide portal access, we hold the account details needed to operate it.

Because our students are usually under 18, we collect student information from and with the agreement of a parent or guardian wherever possible, and we limit what we hold to what tutoring genuinely requires.

How we use it

• To respond to enquiries and arrange consultations
• To deliver tutoring sessions, track progress and share session notes and reports with students and their parents
• To manage scheduling and payments
• To improve our service

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

Information about a student is shared with the tutor delivering their sessions, and with the student's parent or guardian. We use established service providers (for example, communication and scheduling tools) to operate, and they process data only on our instructions. We do not otherwise share personal information unless required by law.

Where a safeguarding concern arises, information may be shared as set out in our safeguarding policy.

Cookies

This site uses only essential and functional storage. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run analytics or tracking cookies of any kind.

• Google Fonts. Our pages load typefaces from Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Making that request sends your IP address to Google, who set out how they handle it in their own privacy policy. No cookie is set by us as a result.
• Your cookie notice preference. When you dismiss the notice at the bottom of the page, we store a single value in your browser's local storage so it does not reappear on every visit. It contains nothing that identifies you.
• Portal sign-in. If you sign in to the student or parent portal, storage is used to keep you signed in for that session. This is essential to the portal working at all.

You can clear the cookie notice preference, and anything else stored, by clearing site data for iled.uk in your browser settings. The notice will then show again on your next visit.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and tutoring records only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, after which they are deleted.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@iled.uk and we will respond promptly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy we will update this page and the date above.
