Foundation or Higher?
Maths and the sciences are tiered. Foundation papers are graded 1 to 5 and Higher papers 4 to 9, and a student sits every paper in one tier or the other - you cannot mix them. Which tier you are entered for is your school’s decision.
Each board writes the tier into the paper differently, so it is on the card above: AQA and Pearson label the paper itself, while OCR numbers the Foundation papers 1 to 3 and the Higher papers 4 to 6.
Papers alone only get you so far.
